Modern darbies alas is upon us and here to stay. We cleanly, cook and hold sensitive feelings. But where does that leave our fundamental instincts? Well, we can no longer hit our breed over the head and headache her back to the surrender. Chances are that’s what happened to the stag.
The stag weekend is becoming the last vestige of our cherished manly ways. Modern man is left packed away neatly in the airing cupboard at home, we no longer have to cover our mouths or apologise when we burp after downing a pint in four seconds (a personal best), we can even blow it into our best friends face and laugh till we choke. We can talk about the new Nintendo Wii with passion and excitement without stares of inadequacy. We can find crude jokes funny and have fun at the expense of someone else, namely of course the stag.
Yes the stag weekend is the place where we can be men and be proud of everything that makes us men. We don’t have to worry about manners; we can be silly again; eat grease and drink too much beer. So my fellow men, you owe it to the Groom and to yourselves - have some proper fun, manly fun, and ensure that he has many a fond memory as he stares out through the kitchen window while doing the washing up in years to come.
